Jodie Slee
Trauma Therapist, EMDR Therapist, Psychosexual Therapist and Relationship Specialist in Leeds and Online Across the UK
About Jodie.
I am an experienced Trauma Therapist, EMDR Therapist, Psychosexual Therapist and Relationship Specialist with over 17 years of clinical experience supporting individuals and couples affected by trauma, complex trauma, attachment difficulties, relationship challenges and the lasting impact of adverse life experiences.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, particularly when difficulties are rooted in traumatic experiences, abuse, shame or painful relationship patterns. My aim is to help clients feel understood, empowered and supported throughout the therapeutic process.
I hold a Distinction in an MSc in Psychosexual Therapy and have undertaken extensive postgraduate training in trauma-informed therapies, EMDR and relationship-based approaches. My work is informed by current research in trauma, attachment, neuroscience and behavioural science allowing me to integrate a broad understanding of how trauma affects the mind, body, relationships and sense of self.

The impact of trauma on sexuality, relationships and emotional wellbeing
Many of the people I work with have spent years trying to cope with the effects of experiences that were never fully processed or understood. Trauma can affect how safe we feel in our bodies, how we relate to others, our capacity for intimacy, our confidence and our ability to trust ourselves and those around us.
EMDR and Trauma Recovery
A significant part of my work involves helping clients recover from traumatic experiences using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) alongside trauma-informed psychotherapy.
EMDR can be highly effective for individuals struggling with PTSD, complex trauma, childhood abuse, sexual trauma, domestic abuse, coercive control, attachment wounds and distressing life experiences that continue to affect daily life. My approach focuses not only on symptom reduction but on helping clients rebuild a sense of safety, self-compassion and connection.
My Therapeutic Approach
I believe that many emotional, relational and sexual difficulties make sense when viewed through the lens of a person's life experiences. Rather than asking "what is wrong with you?", I am interested in understanding "what has happened to you?" and how your responses may have developed as understandable adaptations to difficult circumstances.
My approach is trauma-informed, relational and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on safety, nervous system regulation, choice and empowerment. I work alongside clients to explore patterns, process painful experiences and develop new ways of relating to themselves and others.
Together, we can work towards healing from trauma, strengthening relationships, rebuilding trust, improving emotional wellbeing and creating a life that feels more connected, meaningful and authentic.
